Corniola was a successful international showjumper under German rider Soren Von Ronne and Danish rider Henrik Steen Gundersen until she was retired perfectly sound in 2001. Her international results include: 2nd in the Grand Prix of Aarhus (1.60 metre), 3rd in the Speed Class at Rostock, 3rd in the Info-Key Cup (1.50 metre), 3rd in the 1.50 metre class at the CSI Friedrichshafen (Germany); 6th at the Leipzig show; and 6th at the Hannover show (Germany). Corniola also had numerous wins and placings in national 1.50 m. and 1.40 m. classes in Germany and Denmark and was one of the top showjumpers in Denmark. Corniola had a colt by Condios in 2002, named Conspiracy m2s, a stallion that competed in both showjumping and eventing and is approved by the Warmblood Studbook of Ireland; a filly by Ekstein in 2003 named Wan Chai m2s (retained by Morningside Stud for our breeding program); a filly by Ekstein in 2004 named Zorriola m2s (sold to Florida for sport and breeding) that was crowned by the KWPN-NA as the Champion of the ISF Cup for 5-Year-Old Showjumpers; a filly by Ulysses m2s in 2006 named Bombshell m2s (euthanized in 2008 due to an pasture injury); and a filly by Désir du Chateau in 2008 named Désir du Coeur m2s that we have retained for our breeding program. In 2010 Corniola produced another filly by Désir du Chateau, named Brooklyn Decker m2s.
Sire: Corrado I (Cor de la Bryere x Capitol I) was the 1994 German Showjumping Champion. Corrado I won several international Grand Prix including Aarhus, Kiel, and Dortmund (twice); in 1996 he placed 5th in the World Cup final. Corrado I is now a world-class sire and has produced many horses jumping at the highest international level. In 2000 he was ranked by the WBFSH as the world's 15th best sire. Corrado I is also Condios' grand-sire.
Dam: Corniola's dam Aline descends from Holsteiner stamm 8763. Aline is the dam of the approved Holsteiner stallion Laralle, the international showjumper Corniola, the mare Galina V, and the KWPN Keur mare Marthago. Galina V is dam of the international showjumper Catecus Degli Asseri. Marthago is the dam of the KWPN-approved stallion VDL Silverstone (by Champion du Lys), the best jumper in the 2002 KWPN performance test, his Zangersheide-approved full-brother and international showjumper Chuck Z, and his Zangersheide-licensed half-brother Colorado Z (by Calido), which sold at the 2003 PSI Auction for euro 185,000. Aline's half-sister Evita IV (by Lord) is the second dam of the approved Holsteiner stallion Corrido (by Contender). Another branch of stamm 8763 (through the half-sister of Aline's second dam Eufa, the mare Orida by Ladykiller xx) produced the approved Holsteiner stallion Look Who's Here (by Landgraf I), a Grand Prix dressage horse. The damline has produced the following stallions: Laralle (ZfdP), Chuck Z (Zangersheide), VDL Silverstone (KWPN, Sweden, Italy), Colorado (Zangersheide), Cocodrillo (AES, Italy), Corrido (Holsteiner Verband), Edesso (Holsteiner Verband), and Look Who's Here (Holsteiner Verband and Rheinlander Verband). This damline also has produced Ragazzo, an international competitor under Andreas Ripke (e.g., winner of the Nations Cup of Helsinki) and the international showjumpers Corilino (by Coriano) and Leica (by Alcatraz).. Dam-sire Renomee Z is a proven sire of international jumpers by Ramiro Z, one of history's greatest showjumping sires. Among Renomee Z's international progeny is Renometto, the Puissance specialist under Rene Tebbel. The dam of Renomee Z, Goldret Z, is also known as the second-dam of Chergar Mail, winner of the Rome Nations Cup and his full brother, the approved stallion Fergal Mail (also known as Chapultepec La Silla), the approved stallion Hoggar Mail, plus the international showjumping horse Rodante Z (by Ramiro Z) under Piet Raymakers; she is third-dam of the approved stallion Jaguar Mail. Further in Corniola's pedigree we find the great Hannoverian sire Gotthard. For seven years Gotthard was the leading sire of showjumpers in Germany, and his influence continues to the present day. Gotthard sired 34 approved stallions. Also influential as a dam-sire, Gotthard produced 26 State Premium mares. Gotthard sired over fifty international showjumpers, and in 1975 Gotthard was ranked #1 in terms of prize money won by offspring. Eventually his competing progeny numbered 398, with earnings of almost two million deutschmarks. Gotthard is the dam-sire of the great progenitor Voltaire.
Plans for 2012: Corniola produced a filly by Consall B on 31 May, named Dominatrix m2s.
