Holiday

By Mytens xx x Voltaire x Naturel x Hyperion xx.
Bay.
Born 1989. Deceased 2009.
Registered by the KWPN. Ster Mare.

Holiday is a Ster mare of the KWPN. Her progeny include Novelle, the dam of the Keur mare Sasch who is the dam of the second round stallion candidate Zenith; Orbin, a gelding competing at Z-level dressage and B-level showjumping; Temzy, a mare competing at M-level showjumping; Utopia m2s (a full-sister to Temzy), used in Morningside Stud's breeding program; and a 2005 filly by Ekstein named A Bank Holiday m2s, also retained for our breeding program. In 2006 Holiday had a colt foal by Conspiracy m2s, named Bourne Ultimatum m2s (50% of which is owned by the father of US junior international eventing rider Callie Judy).

Sire: Mytens xx is an influential Thoroughbred sire approved by the KWPN and the Holsteiner Verband. An American thoroughbred, Mytens won three races and placed second in seven starts. Upon being imported into Holland, Mytens was ridden by Bert Romp in the Dutch National Stallion Competitions. He is the first thoroughbred to have completed all seven competitions, including the finals. Mytens is noted for his superb technique and great power. In 1999 the winner of the German Young Event Championship was sired by Mytens and in 2008 the Vice-Champion was a son of Mytens.

Dam: Dante was awarded the Ster Sport-Showjumping predicate by the KWPN in recognition of her success as an international showjumper for the Netherlands. Among her accomplishments are 4th in the Grand Prix of Brussels, 6th in the Grand Prix of Leeuwaarden, 1st in the speed class in Arnhem, 1st in the CSI in Hasselt, and 1st in the CSI in Lummen. Dante produced three progeny: Holiday, a 2003 colt named Washington, and a 2004 filly named Zidante. Dante is a daughter of the legendary sire Voltaire. Dante's dam is Urena, a Ster mare. Urena (who also served the AES studbook and is a Silver Medal Mare) is a Ster mare that produced the international showjumping mare Dante; Gaston, an L-level dressage and Z-level showjumper; Helma, an M-level dressage and M-level showjumper; Miss, a Keur mare and L-level showjumper; and Naturella, an M-level dressage and M-level showjumper. Urena's sire Naturel is a Keur sire of the KWPN and a son of the great Lucky Boy xx.
This damline has produced the international showjumpers Dante, Zenith (who helped Jereon Dubbeldam win two Gold Medals at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, and whose dam is a grand-daughter of Holiday), Dino, Lord II Z, Wandango, Wurricane, Camaro Z, Mentos, Infinity, La Belle S, Thurricane, Bravo, Uniekit, Hurricane, Mon Amie-S, Siebelle S, Veubelle-S, Zeuchelle-S, Exodus, Fleur, Justice, Catman Z, and Quito de Rebel.
