Kalista is a KWPN Keur mare from the very well regarded "Lady Reveil" motherline that has produced many showjumpers, dressage horses, and at least 18 approved stallions. Kalista competed successfully in elementary dressage in Holland. Kalista's first foal is the AWS-approved sire Odin (by Iroko), which stands in the USA and competes at Level 7 (4'3" - 4'6"). Odin has been producing highly-graded foals in America. A 2001 filly, Isabella, received the 2nd highest score in the AWS foal inspections; likewise a 2002 filly, Heather, received the 2nd highest score in the AWS foal inspections. His foals have averaged 75% at this studbook's inspection. Out for Justice, sired by Odin out of a thoroughbred mare, received the National Gold Medal in 2004 from the AWS studbook; he is also a successful dressage competitor. Kalista's second foal, Soliste, received the predicate Sport-Showjumping from the KWPN. Another progeny, Walista, is a Ster mare. In 2004 Kalista had a colt foal by Roven xx named Ziggy Marley m2s; Irish international eventing rider Katie O'Sullivan purchased 50% of Ziggy Marley m2s in 2006 as a prospect for upper-level eventing. In 2007 Kalista produced a bay filly foal by Ulysses m2s, named Cathleen Ni Houlihan m2s, retained for our breeding program. In 2009 she produced a chestnut colt by Wang Chung m2s, named Air China m2s, that was named a Star Foal of the Warmblood Studbook of Ireland and was sold as a foal and exported to Germany.
Sire: Burggraaf (Landgraf I x Cor de la Bryere) is a Holsteiner stallion that is one of the most successful sires of international showjumpers during the last decade. His most successful showjumping progeny include S'Blieft and Burggravin and his most successful dressage progeny include Florijn.
Dam: Udina is a Keur Preferent mare of the KWPN. Among her progeny are Bernadine, a Ster Prestatie mare that competed in both showjumping and dressage; the gelding Dominus, who competed in dressage; the Ster mare Grace, who competed in dressage; the gelding Hero, who competed in dressage; the gelding Jorrick, who competed in both showjumping and dressage; and Kalista's full-sister Lilana, who competed in showjumping. Udina is by Nooitgedacht, who has a dressage breeding index of 122. According to the 1995 edition of the book, "The Leading Stallions of the Netherlands", Nooitgedacht exhibited talent in showjumping, dressage, and eventing. In 1981/1982 he was Dressage Champion at the Dutch National Stallion Competition; the next year Nooitgedacht was Showjumping Champion at the National Stallion Competition. This sire was also National Reserve Champion in Eventing. At the national stallion inspection in s'-Hertogenbosch, Nooitgedacht gave the top performance in the National Saddle Class. Nooitgedacht jumped at Z-level and competed in dressage at M-level, and produced three approved sons. The sire of Nooitgedacht is the legendary Lucky Boy xx, the Keur Preferent foundation sire of the KWPN. Both the dam and grand-dam of Nooitgedacht were awarded the titles Kroon Pref Kern by the Dutch studbook, and this mother-line can be traced back to solid Dutch Gelderlander and Selle Francais roots. Udina's dam Orchidee produced only three foals: Udina and her full-sister Torchidee and full-brother Vecter. Orchidee's dam is Fresia, a Kroon mare by Wachtmeester, a Preferent sire of the KWPN.
