Conspiracy M2S 6th in Intro Event
Today at the one day event at Glendoran our stallion Conspiracy M2S (Condios x Corrado I) and Katie O'Sullivan placed 6th in the Intro event. Conspiracy jumped clear in both the showjumping and cross country phases but incurred some time penalties in the cross country.
In the same class Code Blue (also by Condios and bred by Deirdre Ryan) placed 4th.

Good Start for Roundthorn Madios
In the Irish Sport Horse Showjumping Series 2008, which kicked off at the County Louth show last week, Roundthorn Madios placed 2nd in the 6/7-Year-Old Qualifier and 3rd in the Final. He now holds 3rd place in the ranking.
Roundthorn Madios is a 2002 bay gelding by Condios and out of Clover Heidi (by Clover Hill). Bred by Denise Gleeson McDonagh, the horse is owned by Patricia Connon and ridden by Catherine Thornton. As a 4-year-old Roundthorn Madios and Catherine Thornton won the National Championship of Ireland and the Balmoral National Championship of Northern Ireland.

Wang Chung M2S Wins 1.10 Class
Yesterday Wang Chung won a 1.10 m. outdoor class in the Netherlands in a field with 80 starters of all ages. He jumped two clear rounds and had the fastest time in the jump-off.

Condios Progeny Do Well in International 3-Day Event
At the CIC* Ballygraffan International Horse Trials this past weekend Loughnavatta Papillo placed 11th and Robo Paddy placed 21st in a class with 102 starters. Both horses were clear in the cross-country and had no time penalties. Both had one fence down in the showjumping phase.

Robo Paddy 4th in Novice Event
Robo Paddy (by Condios and out of the mare Cavaliers Abbey by Cavalier Royale) continued his consistent form by placing 4th today in a CNC* Novice event at Rademon.
Robo Paddy was bred by Stephanie Heffernan, is owned by Cormac McKay, and is ridden by Steven Smith.

Today our 7-year-old stallion Ulysses M2S and Rossella de Simone placed 5th out of 64 starters in a one round speed class on the opening day of the three-star international show at Lummen, Belgium.

Wang Chung M2S Places 6th in Outdoor Class
In his first outdoor class in 2008 Wang Chung M2S placed 6th out of 65 starters in a 1.10 m. class with horses of all ages.
After another outdoor class or two at 1.10 m. Eddie Brinkman will start competing Wang Chung in 1.20 m. classes.

Conspiracy M2S 1st in Intro Event at Ballyclough
In a field of 28 starters, Conspiracy M2S (Condios x Corrado I) today won an Intro Event at Ballyclough. With a dressage score of 67% (33 penalty points), Conspiracy took the lead after the dressage phase. With faultless rounds in both showjumping and cross-country Conspiracy kept the lead and finished first, a full point ahead of the second-place horse. This was Conspiracy's second eventing competition.
Also in the class and doing very well was Code Blue (by Condios and out of the mare The Blue Sky), bred by Deirdre Ryan of Ennis. In this his first event Code Blue finished 10th.

This morning Désir de Zonah M2S, a bay filly by Désir du Chateau out of the mare Zonah's Tesoro M2S (Boherdeal Clover x Satco xx), was born at Morningside Stud. The filly is tall and very active.

Two Condios Progeny Well-Placed at CNC*Novice Event
Robo Paddy (Condios x Cavalier Royale) and Loughnavatta Papillo (Condios x Clover Hill) placed 5th and 7th, respectively, in the CNC* Novice class at Tyrella today. Thirty-three horses competed in the class.
Robo Paddy, bred by Stephanie Heffernan, finished on his dressage score while Loughnavatta Papillo, bred by Stephanie's father Patrick Heffernan, added just .4 time penalty points in the cross country.

Ulysses M2S 8th in International Speed Class
Today at the CSI** Show in Barbizon (France) Ulysses M2S and Rossella de Simone placed 8th in a 1.30 m. Speed Class. Eighty-five (85) horses competed in the class and the first 22 places earned prize money.

Ulysses M2S 5th in International Speed Class
In his first international show in 2008 Ulysses M2S and his rider Rossella de Simone placed 5th in a 1.35 m. Speed Class at the CSIY-A Show in Le Touquet (France).
This international young rider show was also the first outing for Condios in 2.5 years. Condios and Rossella had two fences down in a 1.30 m. class. In the 1.35 m. class Condios jumped clear in the first phase and then had one fence down in the second round. We are very pleased that this partnership is off to a good start.
In the Danish Young Horse Championship held in Herning last month the Condios son Runrig Gangster placed 4th. He scored 9s for jumping technique and scope and 8s for canter and rideability.

Robo Paddy Wins CNC* Novice Event
Robo Paddy, a 6-year-old gelding sired by Condios, and his rider Steven Smith won today a Novice class at the Horseheaven CNC* Event in Dromiskin, County Louth. The duo finished on the their dressage score having completed the showjumping and cross-country phases without penalty points added.
This was Steven Smith's first competition with Robo Paddy, which was competed in several events in 2007 by Joseph Murphy. As a 4-year-old Robo Paddy with Murphy was the Vice-Champion of the Future Event Horse League.
Robo Paddy is out of the mare Cavaliers Abbey by Cavalier Royale. He was bred by Stephanie Heffernan of Hillview House Stud in County Offaly.

Condios Leased for Rossella de Simone
Condios, Morningide Stud's international showjumping stallion, has been leased for Rossella de Simone. Under the terms of the agreement fresh and chilled semen will be made available to Morningside Stud's clients throughout the breeding season subject to the stallion's competition schedule.
Condios (Coriano x Landgraf I) is a 13-year-old Holsteiner stallion that showjumped in Grand Prix, Nations Cup, World Cup, and European Championship classes with Danish rider Henrik Gundersen and Irish rider Dermott Lennon from 2002 - 2005. During 2006 and 2007 Condios did not compete but instead was kept busy standing at stud in Ireland.
Rossella de Simone is a 19-year-old showjumping rider who is co-owner of Morningside Stud's 7-year-old stallion Ulysses M2S. Previously trained by Jos Lansink, Rossella is now trained by Ben Schroder who rides along with Jeroen Dubbeldam for BMC in the Nethlerlands.
Fresh and chilled semen from Condios will be available on or around April 1. All enquiries should be made to Tom Reed at Morningside Stud.

Wang Chung M2S Continues to Showjump Successfully
Last weekend in the Netherlands Wang Chung M2S and Eddie Brinkman placed 5th in a 1.10 m. class. The stallion jumped two clear rounds and his time in the second round placed him 5th out of 65 competitors of all ages.
Wang Chung will begin jumping 1.20 m. after April 1.

Wang Chung M2S Crowned Champion Future Stallion at Zwolle International Show
Morningside Stud had some very good results at the CSI2* Zwolle International Show in the Netherlands.
Our homebred stallion Wang Chung M2S (Royal Bravour x Ahorn x Erdball xx) was crowned the Champion Future Stallion. The Future Stallion competition featured 25 5-year-old approved stallions representing the KWPN, Holsteiner, Belgian Warmblood, Anglo European, Zangersheide, NRPS, and Oldenburg studbooks. On the first day of the competition Wang Chung jumped double-clear with Eddie Brinkman and placed fourth. On the second and final day he a clear first round and placed first after a very quick second round against the clock. After combining the results from these two competitions Wang Chung M2S was crowned the 2008 Champion Future Stallion.
In the Young Stallion competition for 6-year-old approved stallions, the Champion was Vincenzo. Co-owned by Hans Horn and HBC Stud, Vincenzo was sired by Numero Uno and his damsire is the Morningside Stud stallion Ekstein.
In the Young Riders competitions the mare Cruisly (Cruising x Voltaire), a half-sister to Morningside Stud's AES-approved stallion Ulysses M2S (Ekstein x Voltaire), placed 3rd in the Big Tour 1.35-1.40 m class and 12th in Grand Prix while the mare Toscanini (Numero Uno x Ekstein) placed 2nd in the Grand Prix.

Three Yearlings Sold to South America
Two yearling fillies and one yearling colt -- Cantopop M2S (by Wang Chung M2S out of Ozy Cruise M2S by Cruising), Condina Bella M2S (by Condios out of Pandina Bella by Landino), and Con Spirito M2S (by Condios out of Violetta Bella M2S by Ekstein) -- will soon be departing Ireland for their new home in Montevideo, Uruguay.
These youngsters will join the 5-year-old stallions Kilpatrick Triple C (Condios x Cavalier Royale) and Wind Shear M2S (Ekstein x Orlando) that are showjumping and standing at stud in Uruguay.

Wang Chung M2S Selected to Represent the Netherlands
Morningside Stud's 5-year-old stallion Wang Chung M2S has been selected by the Dutch Equestrian Federation to represent the Netherlands at the CSI2* Zwolle International Show.
Wang Chung M2S will compete with his rider Eddie Brinkman in the Future Stallion classes against other approved stallions representing the KWPN, Holsteiner, Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Zangersheide, Belgian Warmblood, and NRPS studbooks. The show is from 7 - 16 February 2008.
Wang Chung M2S is sired by the great international showjumper Royal Bravour and out of the Ster Preferent mare Harnita (by Ahorn x Erdball xx). He is approved by the Anglo European Studbook and is working his way through the approval process of the Irish Horse Board.

Irish Riders Buy Prospects Sired by Ulysses M2S and Condios
Nevie O'Gorman, the national rider from County Galway, purchased Airborne M2S (Ulysses M2S x Cruising) at the end of 2007. This year Nevie will start under saddle this 2005 bay AES-registered gelding and compete him in showjumping age classes next year as a 4-year-old.
More recently, the international rider Greg Broderick purchased the bay 4-year-old KWPN-registered gelding Zeitgeist II M2S (Condios x Elcaro). Greg will compete Zeitgeist II M2S in showjumping age classes this year. In 2007 Greg was the Champion Rider in the Bloxham Stockbrokers and Fund Managers Autumn Grand Prix League.
